Bristol NARPO Spring Golf Day -- By popular request the Golf Day is to be held at Chipping Sodbury Golf Club, Trinity Lane, Chipping Sodbury on Thursday 17th May 2012. It will be a Single Stableford, Full Handicap competition, played in teams of 4 with an additional team prize for the best Combined Stableford scores. The day consists of coffee on arrival, 18 holes of golf commencing at 12noon and a substantial 2 course Dinner followed by the presentation of prizes. Buggies can be obtained from the Club Pro. C Division Reunion - This will be held on Friday 23rd March 2012 at the AXA now renamed Friends Life Sports and Social Club, Cribbs Causeway starting at 7.30pm. The cost is still £5 per head to include buffet and raffle . B Division Reunion -- This year it is to be held on Friday 20th April 2012 7.30pm to midnight at the Whitchurch and Pensford Royal British Legion at Staunton Lane, Whitchurch. The invite extends to all police, ex police, support staff and ex support staff with a connection to the old 'B' Division. Wives and partners are included. Tickets are £5 per head including buffet. Avon and Somerset Male Voice Choir. In 2012 the Choir celebrates its 40th Anniversary and is celebrating by having a Concert at Wells cathedral with Male Voice Choirs from Hampshire, Dorset and Gloucestershire. The Concert is on Saturday 28th April 2012 at 7pm and is going to be an exciting mix of Choral music and soloists. The Concert will be recorded and later be issued on CD. From Doug Reed: Since the opening of the re-furbished Nailsea Tithe Barn which featured in Newsletter , Doug has been inundated with questions regarding his early life in Nailsea when it was a small village. Consequently he has put together a short story of his young life. The lady who edited it for him described it as intriguing! If anyone would like a copy just ring Doug and he will get a copy to you.
